Class Descriptions

We offer classes and workshops in Pilates Mat, Yoga, Slackline, Acro Yoga & Melt.

Pilates Mat Classes:  Limited to four people, these classes are open to all levels and vary to include a broad spectrum of exercises and props.  Note: pre-registration is required and private instruction is highly recommended for those new to Pilates.

Hatha Yoga: is a holistic path, comprising postures (asanas), Purification procedures, breathing (pranayama), gestures (mudras), and meditation.  All of which are meant to guide practitioners to a more enlightened and therefore peaceful state of being.  Hatha is represented as two energies, hot/cold, masculine/feminine, solar/lunar, energetic/passive, yin/yang, etc…

Yin Yoga:  Yin Yoga is a more passive, complimentary practice to the aggressive forms of exercise that bind or tighten us up.  This class is accessible to all and at the same time, probably the most valuable.  In this class we will integrate knowledge of the physical, energetic, emotional, mental, and wisdom states of being.

Read some articles in Paul Grilley’s Writings about the study of Yin and how it can benefit you.

Yin Yang Class Description: A combination of the two classes described above, Zach will be teaching this hour and  a half class which will focus on balancing out the body and mind via active and passive asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing) and at times, will intertwine it all with some melodic chanting.

Slackline Yoga:  Slackline Yoga (or slackasana) has been described as “distilling the art of yogic concentration.” To balance on a 1″ peice of webbing lightly tensioned between two trees is not easy, and doing yoga poses on it is even more challenging. Yet despite the seemingly impossible nature of the act, it is achievable by almost anyone with a little bit of perseverance and patience. The practice has many layers, simultaneously developing focus, dynamic balance, power, breath, core integration, flexibility, and confidence.entlest form of exercise.

The members of team YogaSlackers have collectively taught over 100,000 people (from 2 to 82 yrs old) to successfully embrace this amazing form of asana. We have developed a special line and simple tensioning system, allowing for practitioners to learn safely and experience the benefit of a wide range of dynamic energies while on the line.

Slackasana Practice:  During warmer months come practice slackasana on Saturdays and/or Sundays with Mara and Zach during Acro and Slackline playtime.  You will learn the basics of kneeling, sitting, standing and possibly arm-balancing on the slackline.  Zach and Mara will play to your strengths to help you develop an empowering slackline practice.

There are currently 77 Yogaslacker teachers worldwide and you have two of them here in Wilmington, Delaware!

Yoga Acrobatics are a partner practice which creates a community of people sustained by trust, communication, and playfulness.  Individuals will find that a partnered practice offers a source for safe connection, sustained by trust, communication and playfulness. The training has a profound impact one’s views of yoga and how it can be practiced.
